China is the world's largest LAN. Good news is that more and more people in China mainland know how to go over the wall nowadays.

Exactly. It cannot be a large "market" if sites like Facebook, Wikipedia and news sites are banned, and pioneers like Google have refused to do business there. Imagine if the largest car dealership in the world only sold Hyundais.

China has already in place a social networking site called RenRen. It is an almost carbon-copy (like many other things in China) of Facebook, right down to design and functionality.

A kind of Facebook . gov in other words.

Odd to think the vast majority of young Chinese, nominally socialist, probably resent this; While many young lefty Americans of Zuckerberg's generation crave government takeover of Facebook, if not the entire internet.

By young are you talking about approximately the age of youthful Haley "paid more attention to the girls than to King" Barbour or the spry immigrant Rupert Murdoch whose Chinese wife is roughly the same generation as Zuckerberg?
