Fine. Murdoch you go right ahead and make your content hard to get at. And as your hit numbers drop through the floor, and advertising revenue with it maybe we will soon be rid of you entirely. So I encourage Google to give you what you want.
In the mean time, smarter companies can fill the gap with well reported news for free and their add revenues will rise along with their rising user base.
The corporates want to start bleeding us dry for web based services so they can raise their profits over the existing add driven ones. Well... knock yourselves out guys. The web has proven again and again that paid services will be surpassed by the free ones.

Screw Rupert Murdoch. He's a cannibalizing capitalist vulture of the worst variety. The more the already-ridiculously successful and wealthy media conglomerates try to control information, the more that information is going to be pushed into other avenues of distribution. It's an information war that media can't win. Unless they "buy" the entire Internet and lock it down.
Hmm . . .

LFRAgain. Wouldn't be shocked if they have some scheme to do so. There has been corporate talk again and again about just how to do that. They want to bleed every penny from every possible source.

Harder to get content means fewer ads viewed on that site = fewer advertisers on that site...In the words of Dirty Harry, "Go ahead, make may day"...
