Urrr. While I love the idea of "flying" cars I don't think its a good idea TBH. Imagine what a flying car accident would look like because a distracted driver/pilot(?) was on their cell phone or trying to run a stop sign or just didn't pay attention to traffic laws because they're "in a hurry".
I do like the idea of hover cars. And once we crack the secret of anti-gravity, and an unlimited energy source, it should be full steam ahead for humankind. A car that is allowed to hover at least 2'-4' maybe even 5 feet off the ground will never worry about pot holes, slick roads, black ice, or other road hazards. But still requires anti gravity to effectively "brake".

. A flying car would need a pilot's lience.
How many of those who have passed their car test could pass a pilot test as well.
A car that hovered a few feet off the ground, we have already. It is called a Hovercraft.

Ever try braking a hovercraft? It's not the same as an effective anti-grav stop theoretically. Hover crafts have a bit of "coasting" space to stop.
