Honda's ASIMO robot to conduct Detroit orchestra

HIROSHIMA —

Honda Motor Co said Friday its ASIMO humanoid robot will conduct the Detroit Symphony Orchestra at a special concert for young people on May 13.

ASIMO will conduct the orchestra in a performance of “Impossible Dream,” a song from musical “Man of La Mancha,” to open the concert featuring renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Honda is providing the orchestra with more than one million dollars this year to establish The Power of Dreams Music Education Fund for young people.

" Ma. Honda is providing the orchestra with more than one million dollars this year to establish The Power of Dreams Music Education Fund for young people."

So there was a reward for this indignity.

ANYTHING for a good cause, I guess.

    But still...

The real conducted was too scared to go to Detroit.

Not to put to fine a point on it but I believe there needs to be a 'the' between 'from' and 'musical.' Could just be me, though.

Flommytherobot is happy that the concert with the conducting by Asimo will allow for the release of a new prototype model -- the Robot Audience.

Such an audience would be able to appreciate the performances of robot orchestras, which can also play more than a thousand times faster than any human orchestra.

Flommytherobot is pleased to have been of assistance.
