I think they would have a MUCH bigger share of the market if their products were not so overpriced. I personally like them, but can't afford anything past their phones. I think their sales, profits and market share would increase if prices dropped.

Xiaomi and Huawei will continue to improve their products and probably take more market share from Apple and Samsung.

Have not had a phone now in 23 months. Feels great. Do not miss it at all.

Other than the ipads, imacs, ipods, apple watches, macbooks...

Meanwhile Sony, Sharp, etc. -- the stalwarts of the once mighty Japanese electronics industry -- are all hanging on by a thread. Funny that you don't hear Apple complaining about the slowdown in China or cut-throat competition from SK or Taiwan. Guess that's what happens when you focus on the consumer and deliver a superior product, rather than being so darned focused on yourselves.

Apple's yearly revenue is greater than the GDP of New zealand, thats obscene!

That, and complaining about not getting the results you want due to some feeling of entitlement, of course.
Anyway, this will REALLY make the resident haters angry: not only do they have to admit that Apple is the biggest company in the world in terms of value, they have to admit that it is only GROWING! Ouch!

Not because it's better, but because it is used on much cheaper hardware across the board. That is just about the only reason worth mentioning.

I agree with your logic here. But to be fair, Android is a good OS. Having used them both, I can't say that I find either iOS or Android to be a clear leader.
Haaa Nemui
Not disagreeing. I've used both as well, but I just think the primary reason Android has a much larger market share is because of the sheer number of manufacturers that it is available to.

I'm glad Apple was not able to stifle Android - competition is good. Keeps them all on their toes, coming up with better products, and more innovation.

@Wipeout - point taken... that's what I get for skimming comments. I just took that line, which is often used by Apple haters (not saying you are or aren't one) to try to convince people that Android is better, and rebutted that line. My point is just because something has sold more that doesn't make it the better option especially when you consider all the inferior hardware. There is of course good hardware that it is used on as well. Anyway... my bad for taking it out of the context.
Agree. I think I've said somewhere before that the whole patent system seems to be a bit of a joke with communications companies. They should be doing what the auto industry has started doing and freeing up all of their patents to further innovation and development.

Meanwhile, ZH is reporting that the iPhone 6s manufacturer has stopped hiring due to slow iPhone sales momentum...

Stopped hiring is quite different from "started firing". It makes sense to understand that said manufacturer hired staff enough to assembly a huge number of iPhones that will sell through December holidays. And let's be honest, 48 million is a number that any industry would envy.
