    Let's hope that the site, if it ever gets up, includes community languages. English, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese & Tagalog are the largest groups of languages other than Japanese used in Japan.

    I won't be holding my breath waiting for them, though.

    No thanks, with the amount of keylogger and bots combined with clueless users this system will be a major target for hackers.

    It also aims at improving children’s information-gathering skills through the Internet.

    Can't understand why they seem to muddle together two unrelated things (public service and education) in one document. On the other hand, muddle-headed thinking in J-government ...

    If they want to improve students internet skills, they'll need to start thinking about getting the internet into Japanese classrooms.

    I'm going on record as saying this will not happen in the next ten years. If any system gets online in less than that, it will be a greatly scaled back version of the original plan.

    I bet it crashes for about five years after they first turn it on. I've seen enough "does everything" software. It never fails to fail. Better keep your important papers in a fireproof box as a backup...
