i still can't figure out the advantages of using linkedin. fill in all your info and bio and then?

Many employers today actually do a web search of your name after receiving your application. They often look for LinkedIn to see your profile and how it may match your resume and decide on whether they will call you in for an interview after that. Sometimes if you don't have a LinkedIn account the employer may guess that your " not up to the times and out dated" and therefore refuse to even call you in for an interview. Everything today is through the iternet now, so yeah it helps A LOT to have a LikedIn account.

bad move to make linkedin in Japanese. This is a professional networking website in an increasingly global world. If the Japanese refuse to come out of their shell and start learning to use English and deal with foreigners and open up in a setting that is not comfortable them, then it is basically a glimpse of the many problems they have and will have in the future.

What's the point? The job market for professionals, particularly in IT is in decline in Japan.

This is a professional networking website in an increasingly global world. If the Japanese refuse to come out of their shell and start learning to use English and deal with foreigners and open up in a setting that is not comfortable them, then it is basically a glimpse of the many problems they have and will have in the future.

The company said it is learning about the Japanese market and expects to roll out products and services localized specifically for the country.

Hope they survive in this country that has swiftly merged with Asia after the collapse of 'bubble' economy, rest of Asia will be profitable for LinkedIn Corp.

@ironchef, so you think they should come to Japan and tell people not to use their first language, hmmm, yeah, it sounds like a great business plan. "I can't learn your laugnage so you need to use ours".
