    They are stronger than ever nevertheless. The Window$ 8 shown promising performance and stability... This comes from a very long time Linux only user and developer (me) ;).

    Without the 6 billion dollar writeoff (lowers their year end taxes), they would have had a 6 billion dollar profit. Not bad, and certainly nowhere near as bad as investors had expected. Strong showing considering a lot of people are waiting for W8 to arrive before buying a new computer.
