Snore.... Once again behind Apple. Many companies have also been reported to have said they will be sticking with windows 7. They skipped Vista to go to 7. Why spend so much to go to 8..

I really want it now. But win8 is scheduled to release in September 2012, right? Maybe by the time win8 actually revealed, competitors will brush up their OSs. Anyway, more competition is good for all consumers. Today's tablet market dominated by iOS is a bit boring.

Apple took a fast lead but competition has really caught up IMO.

Generic boring 'buzz' names like Bing and Build are really showing their innovation..

I stopped using Windows after Windows 95, but last year I started using Windows 7 and I was impressed by it. Mac OS is still my main system. I haven't had any problems with Windows 7. I also use Linux Ubuntu.

When havent we seen snafus with windows, and i guess we will continue to see more .
Just jumped from xp to windows 7 and half the software is not compatible but there are some work arounds but they are that work arounds. Hardly suffice and satisfactory really.
I will not be jumping to windows 8 for a few years as i begrudge giving good money to gates and his cronies.
XP wasnt broken dont know why they had to go to 7 just a money grabbing move by them.

"We re-imagined Windows"
Well, get really to delay the release by a few years, as is the norm, then have everyone disappointed with all the flaws and crappiness of it while you go through it all again. Call it 're-imagine' all you want; it's simply re-thinking numerous disasters.
And when Windows 8 finally comes out a couple years after initial release dates that were promised, we'll have iPad 4 or even 5, iPhone 6 or 7, etc. And of course Windows has only ever been an extremely poor attempt to copy Apple's OSs anyway.

I used to only use Windows, but I took a deep breath, jumped on the I Phone band wagon, then got myself an I Pod Nano MP3 player and what the heck now ready to also go for the I PAD and if possible just go for the whole shabang and get myself an Apple Laptop too! So, Windows, Mikro$oft, get your $h!t together because many many people around the world will not be lead around like SHEEP oh! yes they newest crap from MS has come out, if I do not buy it my life will me miserable, I will be called a dork, nerd in my college dorm etc..no, no sir, NO MORE! But I do agree with some of the folk positing here, COMPETITION IS GREAT!!! Apple needs the competition from LG, Samsung, Acer, Sony? Sharp? What ever happened to that mystical Japanese WE CAN MAKE IT SMALLER AND BETTER from SONY?? I would like to see cool innovative stuff come out from SONY again, is this too much to ask????

The real computer system is finally coming up. Time to forget Apple mobile phones with the 10 inch screens, useful only for watching YouTube.

Pardon me while I vomit, Have no intention of buying win 8 or any other Micro$oft product anytime in the future. Make excuses for it, make all of them you want. I will stick to Snow Leopard for my computer and red hat for my server. I do not need a "smart" phone of tabulate.

Ha-ha (I'm smiling in a good sense). No problem. I understand. I am surrounded by people like you. Every one around, save none, has that silverish macbook. Heck, I've got myself one. Bought that i-7 macbook pro model two weaks after they hit shelves here, installed Lion a week ago and now it feels like a big iPad worth of 3000 euros. Very ornamental, tho. Looks great on a black wooden table. Now, my next laptop will be Sony VAIO with Windows 8, one of the more expensive models - stylish, and at least different from enyone else, heh. Plus, will support Japan. :)
