TOKYO —
Microsoft Corp. is planning to present the Japan Fair Trade Commission with evidence to prove that the planned tie-up between Yahoo Japan Corp. and Google Inc. will impair fair competition in the online search market, officials at the U.S. software giant’s Japan unit said Friday. Microsoft has already condemned the agreement as ‘‘even more anticompetitive’’ than Google’s deal with Yahoo! Inc. in 2008, which the U.S. Department of Justice found illegal.
Yahoo Japan said earlier this week that it will adopt Google’s search engine and search-linked advertisement distribution system under their tie-up. Their partnership is expected to allow them to almost monopolize Internet search services in Japan. The Japanese fair trade watchdog sees no antimonopoly problem with the alliance as Yahoo Japan and Google plan to separately provide their respective Internet search services.
In the United States, Microsoft and Yahoo! have tied up for search-linked ads to counter Google’s dominant position in the market. The alliance between Yahoo Japan and Google will likely deal a serious blow to Microsoft, analysts said.

Again, looking at Microsoft's unethical and underhanded history of operating, it's hard to feel any sympathy for them.

The question is - what retaliatory actions will Microsoft take in Japan? Will Microsoft introduce some software to circumvent Yahoo Japan action?
