    I can't believe how many people still use their crappy product. GMail is far superior, and yet doesn't have as many users as Hotmail. Speaks of how computer illiterate people are, some are too afraid to change.

    I have both gmail and hotmail, I've had hotmail for over 12 years and i still use it everyday. Its convenient

    Remember that time when gm took over? Microsoft was still trying to make people PAY for extra capacity!

    Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo-mail, and the other 10 million email accounts...doesn't make much difference. 99.9% of them are free and equally do a lousy job of weeding out the junk mail (case of you get what you pay for).

    I joined Hotmail before M$ took it over. It wasn't "cool" per se, but it was slim, fast and worked. Now it's just another slow part of the M$ juggernaut: full of MSN Network crap and a magnet for mountains of SPAM.

    agreed. It will be cool or at least useful again.... when it is no longer run by Microsoft and I can block all the Microsoft announcements along with the other spam

    Gmail is your upgrade, runs on "GSE" a google server which appears to be a mod of Apache. Hotmail runs on "Microsoft-IIS/6.0" bleh...
