TOKYO —
Masunaga Optical Manufacturing Co has come up with a high-tech solution for obsessive video-gamers and bookworms whose eyes dry out from lack of blinking. The company said Tuesday that its “Wink Glasses”—retailing for 40,000 yen—were an answer to the ocular dehydration caused for instance by prolonged computer use.
When a sensor detects that the wearer has not blinked for more than five seconds, the glasses “fog up” by gradually making a liquid crystal display over one eye turn opaque. A simple blink clears the lens again.

...What? Ok if you're sitting in front of something for that long and not blinking, it's time to get up. Granted I've gamed for hours and read books well into the night, but never to the point where my eyes dried out. If I DID get that far, it was time to turn the game off/close the book and go to sleep, haha. 40,000 yen... sheesh.

Water pistols would be a better solution. Do Pachinko people get dry eyes like that? Pachinko is sort of like watching a clothes dryer dry clothes. Gives me dry eyes every time.
