The direction Nintendo has been heading is sad, to say the least... Having grown up with their consoles and games, I feel a sense of nostalgic attachment to them, but their recent consoles are pathetic compared to the competition, and the fact that they have so rigidly region locked their games makes them even less desirable.... It'll be interesting to see if they'll last longer than a year.

Well if the chief is this arrogant, then Nintendo deserves its failures.

Clearly the decision to underpower the Wii U proved to be disastrous. Why waste money on a system that is only as powerful as the Xbox 360 and PS3, when the Xbox One and PS4 would be coming out a year later?

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata didn’t give details of what he called his “quality of life” LMAO he doesn't have to sooner or later his board of directors will detail his quality of life based on low sales! I see a golden boot in the making not a golden handshake!!

Everybody underestimates Nintendo.

Why not release Nintendo gamers on the PS4...?

The profits for all these companies is in the games and while Nintendo would have to pay Sony a fee to release on their platform, no doubt - given their extensive library of great titles, Nintendo could strike a very favorable deal with Sony.

Yes, I understand this is not how Nintendo wants to go, and there is a good deal of pride wrapped up in all of this, but ...

Nintendo sticks to "old ways" just like the article says. Most of us "grew up" on nintendo games but then we "grew up". You cash in on Mario and Donkey kong forever. Reigon locks, huge control pad, most games only use motion controls and kiddie games. Failing

a day after he and other top executives took a pay cut for the company’s poor performance.

An arrogant and futile gesture of rich men that seems quite popular here. The apparent acceptance that this is a genuine act of contrition allows the incompetent to remain in positions of power.
