Profit margins on computing hardware are slim-to-none. Printers are sold at a loss with the hope that the difference can be made up with subsequent toner/ink sales. All 400,000 units sold means is that Nintendo will probably break even on the new console by January - assuming people buy a bunch of software to go with the console, that is.

So 400,000 unsatisfied customers then?

Nah, cause out of those 400k sold, there are less customers. You'll have the people out there buying 10+ of these and trying to profit by marking up the price on ebay or craigslist. They fail to understand that there isn't going to be as huge a demand and they'll make very little profit, if any.
$350+ for a Deluxe model. That's only 32 gig of storage and a game. Man, I got my 320 gig Xbox 360 with Halo 4, 2 controllers, and headset for the same amount.

Consoles are a rip off at launch, they always will be. Paying $350 or $400 for some out dated hardware is just ridiculous if you ask me. But, there are certain console game I, and I'm sure others, have a soft spot for so they will continue to sell.
