Another DS? Do we really need another DS? Need to work on a new console or at least third party games. My first DS works just fine. No need for another one.

Why do there need to be four or five versions of the same thing? I know no one is dragging me to the store and telling me to buy it, but for people who just BOUGHT the newest DS, it's like fighting a losing battle. Great for people who never had one, but more money down the drain if you've already updated your DS more than once. I guess people who already have one aren't the ones they're targeting though. Hmm.

3D with no glasses? The only tech I know that can do that are screens which have two sets of pixels, each set slanted just right so that the two eyes see different images when you're in the sweet spot. Sounds expensive. At least 30,000 yen I'll bet.

do I need to create more garbage? why not offer to take back the DSLite I have, then I'll upgrade, otherwise I don't see why I need two that do the same thing. This could be an environmental initiative. As well, the components could be recycled since they'd be working systems.

Will this thing be unplayable for the visually impaired, or will there be some way to show both sets of pixels to the same eye?

I'd hate for 3D-only to become the new standard. The perfect-eyesight people don't seem to be clamoring for it, and those without would be frozen out of one of their favorite hobbies.

Ugh, James Cameron has a lot to answer for. I hate 3D.

This isn't going to be another Virtual Boy, is it? Lord knows how well that did last time.

Today in the main station some dork walked straight into me because he was so absorbed in his DS. Two days ago a little kid was playing on his while biking down the street. Can't wait for yet another one to come out, and further destroy the population.

Why make something else when the first item is still at the top of the market? DS has room to grow still and I hope this 3-D thing sounds as good as it is.

It'd be the same as in real life. Depth perception will be mostly lost but everything should still be as clear. I don't see where the problem lies... Unless they use the actual 3D mechanic in the game as part of the game...

Real life must suck for you. 3-D things everywhere!

Supposedly it still plays the previous systems' games. As those weren't designed for the 3D screen, you have to assume it can do 2D view as well.

That being said, 3D would make people focus 'through' the screen, which for some people might even make the screen easier to look at.

Well, why not make a new Wii then? That is what is suffering from less then stellar software. Barely any 3rd party games and all the first tier stuff is not that great.

Second, they just came out with the XL a little while ago. Yeah, I know it is just a bigger DS, but the fact of the matter is that the software that they got out there is mediocre at best. Yeah, there are some great games, but how many companies are going to go and start coding and making games for the 3D platform on the DS? Sure there will be some games but for the price this thing might come out at, you could probably buy another PS3 or 360. Of course this is just all speculation.
