I knew no good would come from this newfangled 3D fad. I was around for the first one, and the second one. I had hoped it would die a well deserved death.

It sounds like they are just covering the bases. I doubt that they have actually conducted any studies or tests otherwise it would have been stated. However, that said, should it come out that the 3D games are damaging to the eyes, they can then say, "we warned you!".

Personally, I find the 3D fad thing annoying. It's not really that cool, and when I think back to the movies that I watched in 3D I didn't think "Oh, the 3D effects MADE the movie!"

In fact, the first time I saw the 3D effect with the Avatar, it actually pulled my attention away from the story at first because I was interested in the 3D effect.

Watching the movie again in 2D, I realized I didn't miss the 3D effect at all.

BS! How in the world are doctors supposed to know more about a new technology than the company that developed it? That really is "covering the bases", e.g. they might actually know a bit more about negative effects but want to sell their stuff as long as possible and thus try to put as much blame as possible on the user.

The simple solution would be: Don't make any 3D games for the platform aimed at kids under 10. Then you're not going to have to worry too much about kids 6 and under hurting their eyes.

Books. Rad to your children. Books and love. Don't let children simply enter their 'own world' for hours on end and leave them to it. Too easy. Lazy parenting.

I don't know what it does to their eyes, but it's pretty obvious what it's doing to their brains. I can see it every time I walk down the street. Nintendo games = electronic autism.

Then these parents have their own problems if they can not control their kids with out handheld consoles. Read, play, talk, etc with your kids!
