It’s the first time a video game console maker has integrated live TV controls in a device and could be the extra incentive needed for on-the-fence shoppers ahead of the Christmas holiday.

Except that Sony has been doing it with their PS3. It's called PlayTV.

I have the Wii U and I have to say the Netflix and Amazon VOD applications are lightyears ahead of anything on XBox or PS3. It will be interesting to see the TVii application. HOWEVER, keep in mind that TVii in the US will be significantly different from the service in the Japan. For one, the TVii in Japan is a subscription service, and it will have a different set of Japanese companies.

I don't see how they can be lightyears ahead, when all they do is let you search for videos, then launches them.

I hate all of this digitilizing crap. My mom bought me a Kindle Fire for X-mas. It'll most likely be left in a drawer to gather dust. I have a laptop and that's all I need.

The point of the Kindle is to read books. Instead of having hundreds of pounds of books sitting in a room. You can have digital copies in a device that doesn't even weigh 2 lbs. I don't care much for the Kindle Fire, as other tablets are much more capable. I also don't care for it for reading books, as the e-ink Kindles do a better job at that.

I wish Nintendo would go back to making serious gaming systems. They hasn't been anything great since the N64. However, I did own a Gamecube and enjoyed Pikmin and the two Rogue Squadron sequels.
