It puts back for new improvement at higher cost like recalls of automobiles.

“Kids should be out running around,” AMEN. Too many kids are getting weak and play too much on their portable gaming devices.

But yeah, I HATE 3d, only get headaches. But its being forced down our throats.

Early birds are eagerly waiting for new gadgets, that is one of reasons forcing consumer product makers rushing to release new products. Apple released new iPad 2, and Nintendo also did so. If they receive the positive feedbacks, their sales revenues are guaranteed as well as their stock prices.

Intuitively, the idea of using auto-stereoscopic equipment to check for related vision issues sounds like a sensible one. But you have to first confirm the device is indeed harmless for young children, plus you then need to prove it actually works. This implies researching and developing the appropriate software, and conducting an extensive study on a large enough sample of population. So yeah I understand people feeling perplex about already elevating this as news...

I HATE 3d, only get headaches. But its being forced down our throats.

Keep in mind that the fact "you hate 3D" does not mean everybody else does (even if many share your point of view). Also I cannot see how anything is forced down your throat: any 3D capable TV is also 2D capable, you get to choose which version of a movie you want to watch at the theater, and even in the case of the 3DS there is a convenient tiny slider on the side that allows you to adjust the 3D effect down to turned off.

Optometrists: Nintendo 3DS could have vision issues

Not being a native speaker, it may be an understanding issue on my side, but no matter how many times I read this title, I just can't make any sense of it!

Optometrists: Nintendo 3DS could have vision issues

Um, the headline doesn't match the story - shouldn't that be "Optometrists: Nintendo 3DS could help detect vision issues"? The exact opposite meaning.

Anyway, my 3DS hurt my eyes a bit for the first few days but then I got used to it - no problems at all. I get headaches with regular 3D from the glasses.

Yes, the title is a bit misleading. The optometrists are saying that the Nintendo 3DS could actually help diagnose kids with eye problems but some ophthalmologists are saying otherwise.

Papigiulio, you don't have to buy it.

And if it's your throat it's being forced down, you might be doing it wrong.

3D feature or effect serve both entertainment purpose and new technologies. No companies like to pay scientists or researchers to analyze negative impacts on new products. Even like US has FDA, but consumers don't put their souls at 100% trust on new drugs ... time is an answer.
