I believe this is probably due to the poor quality of PC's produced locally in Japan. Also a bit suprised by the supposed "lower product prices" mentioned... I've done quite a bit of searching and nothing comes close to being competitive with what I can buy online from the states. Even worse is realizing that most of the overpriced items are some kind of generic junk.
saborichan - I've been using Win7 beta for months now, on a very old HP system and an old IBM laptop. If the outstanding performance on those is any indication, it's going to have noooo problems giving people the most out of their Netbooks (new and old). Although, personally I think the Netbook fad is going to fade in the not to distant future... sure, they can be handy for travel and basic functions on the go, but at the moment they are just too basic to be of any real use other than web browsing.

976 billion yen from PC business,is not so bad.
Next year, PC sales will go higher,as it a very good useful product for future global improvements in communications of all type knowledges.

Yes, computer sales aren't going to dry up like cars may. But I wonder how the new Windows platform will fare on the popular new 'netbooks'.
