NTT Docomo announced Thursday that a redesigned version of its Raku-Raku smartphone F-12D will be sold in the French market, targeted at seniors, beginning in June.
Docomo launched the F-12D in Japan last August as its first smartphone for users who are unfamiliar with touchscreen operations. Features such as extra-legible menus and on-screen keys with tactile feedback make the phone especially handy for first-time smartphone users.
The F-12D will be modified for the European market and will be sold by Orange as the STYLISTIC S01.
Docomo, which collaborates with device manufacturers to develop diverse handsets with innovative features, developed the F-12D model together with manufacturer Fujitsu Limited. It is the first smartphone in the Raku-Raku Series, which also has introduced several easy-to-use feature phones over the years.
