i'll wait to see what apple comes out with. i'll bet it'll be revolutionary rather than evolutionary.

The G Watch has already been dwarfed by the Moto 360. No one's even takking about LG.

We all know this is simply a case of the smalltimers getting in for a quick buck before Apple's watch is released.

The iwatch will most likely only be compatible with apple products and is therefore rendered useless for the majority. Apple also puts much emphasis on health and sports related functions...how many people care about their heart rate BMI etc, nice to have but again useless for the majority.

I can't understand your whining. If you want a smartwatch for the "majority" of users, then there's at least 6 models out there, just pick one and stop crying. Peeble, for one, is compatible for both iOS and Android and has a nice design. Of course Apple's watch will be dedicated to iOS only, this is Apple strategy and has been working for years.

I think the so-called iWatch will be tremendously more successful than people think.

Remember, the iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, and 5S models support Bluetooth 4.0 (LE) connectivity, and that means all these models of the iPhone I mentioned can work with the iWatch through Bluetooth 4.0. And from the rumor mill, the iWatch will be not only a notification device, but also be a health monitor and also could have an NFC radio/subsystem for things like mobile payments (so instead of "tapping" the phone itself on the NFC terminal, you "tap" the iWatch itself and the iPhone becomes the intermediary in a mobile payment transaction through an encrypted Bluetooth link). This allows Apple to forego the expense and technical complications of adding an NFC radio/antenna subsytem on the phone itself, allowing the phone to be thinner than normal.
