Samsung research: the next Galaxy smartphone will be an exact copy of iPhone 6.

who wants to pay a premium price for a plastic phone? samsung falsely believes that features, not form, sell products. but it was steve jobs' s mantra that you should never sacrifice form in order to sell products. that mantra is proving ever more true as 5S sales continue overwhelm samsung and other manufacturers.

@LostinNagoya, clearly you haven't left the walled garden of Apple in a while, as the trend has been the other way around for well over a year now. Apple's been playing catchup ever since the iPhone 4.

Didn't Samsung come up with the larger screen earlier?

Good to hear that. Generally Apple know what they are doing when it comes to h/w design. When I see people using Android phones on the train I wonder whether they have total lack for proper design. Those phones just look s****y.

Yeah rumors are iPhone 6 will be larger than 5s! I really wish they would leave the size of the phones alone, I dont want to carry a mini-tablet to call with.

They should focus more on: battery life, strong designs, good and easy interface. Also a platform that doesnt need a software like itunes to copy data or music would be fantastic.

@ CGB Spender...

-1 for your fanboyism. Would have been -10 if I could.

Whatever happened to live and let live? I have an android nexus 5 so I have a lack for proper design? What are you on about? Your comments are pathetic.

I think the more ominous sign is the coming of the iPhone 6 with its 4.7 and 5.5 inch models, designed specifically to combat the Samsung Galaxy S and Note models. The iPhone 6 may drive many potential cellphone customers for higher-end cellphones back buying the iPhone instead of Android handsets.

Riiiiight. That explains why every single iPhone owner I know immediately covers theirs up in an aftermarket case as soon as they it. Who gives a crap what the phone looks like naked if it's going to be inside of a decorative/protective case or shell anyway and all you can see of it is the screen? It's so ironic that as much as Apple fan boys talk about the iPhones' superior, proper, simple, etc. design the market for aftermarket iPhone cases and shells and other add ons is several times that of Android phones. Pathetic.

It's nice to see that the iPhone is finally growing(up), heavily suppressed by its father Steve, the little thing never had a change to play with grown ups.... Now it can finally enjoy some new privileges which come with adulthood, like a proper keyboard (swiftkey) and maybe true multi taking.. Congrats iPhone you became the equivalent of a Japanese adult; reliable, predictable and still very depended and restrained. But it's a step in the right direction and with the zero yen policy of softbank, you'll be adopted by many new, no longer cross eyed, owners.

Apple claims they invented the larger 5.5 inch size phones.

is anticipated to sport bigger screens which would encroach on what has been a key Samsung advantage. i thought Apple was about innovation, why the need to make a bigger screen. maybe it was the other smartphone makers that got it right with the bigger screen size all alone. surely Apple isnt trying to copy oops be innovative with a larger screen size (phablet)

I think I'll stick with my trusty garakei.

@LostinNagoya, you mean how the iPhone 6 has a larger screen a la Galaxy phones? Or about how it has NFC, a feature common amongst many Android phones from even a few years ago?
