Shinkansen robot 'Project E5' to appear at train festival in Yokohama

A train festival will be held from Aug 9 through Aug 17 at LaLaport Yokohama in Yokohama, Kanagawa prefecture.

The main display at the event will be a Shinkansen (bullet train) transforming robot called "Project E5".

Project E5 is made based on JR East's E5 series Shinkansen. It was exhibited to the public at the Tokyo Toy Show 2014, which took place in July, and became very popular.

In addition to the Project E5, the train festival offers a JR Yokohama Line stamp rally, N scale (popular train scale) simulation experience, Mini-SL ride and so on.

Sigh... I can see the JR announcement boards: "Shinkansen delay. Reason: Train transformed to a robot and went to fight a kaiju"
