I agree that Apple will peak in 2013 with iPhone6, and after that there will be a decline in sales. The peak event has to happen someday, as it is impossible to keep selling more and more every six months. iPhones are expensive, only a handful of people can afford it, there's no room for expanding among lower classes - that has to content with inferior devices. There are two exits for Apple if it wants to sell more and more: a cheaper smartphone (that could be called anything, but iPhone) to sell to developing countries. Or just ignore Wall Street a la Steve Jobs and get content with its huge base of customers who will guarantee Apple's profit margin for years ahead.

yep Apple also lost top spot as largest company on the NYSE, only way to go when your on top is down.

Being #1 was a reality distortion IMO. A company that sells computers and phones to a handful of people - in comparison to the earth population - is more valuable than companies that sell gas to a large part of the earth population ? Anyway being second or third is still an amazing achievement for a tech company.
