This news is really scaring me someone can control my car via internet ready Entertainment accessories. As I comment in the past, the Internet ready or Internet connectable devices in cars will danger to peoples on road and occupants of the car. Reading facebook and email will be distracting driver concentration. Now someone can take control the car remotely by hacking into car Internet ready entertainment unit.

Car Companies should not be installed Internet Ready devices as standard factory accessories in cars. They have to take responsible for lost of lives and accidents even the accident couldn’t be proved technically someone had hacked and control the car via Internet ready or Connectable Entertainment unit. Car Companies should remember Toyota’s unintentional acceleration law suit. There was no technically and scientifically proved Toyota cars in US have installed with defective ECU. Also consumers should have their choice to choose not to buy car with Internet Ready accessories. Let the third party small businesses’ peoples to do the job.

In the US, the Judge will award plantiiffs with ridiculous amount of compensation if the accident was involved by the factory installed Internet ready device regardless of without proved or proved of the accident was causing by car’s Internet ready device.

U.S. District Court Judge James V. Selna of the Central District of California denied Toyota's motion to dismiss the lawsuits, rejecting Toyota’s argument that plaintiffs did not identify the specific cause of why its vehicles are unexpectedly accelerating.

To be clear, the Jeep had features installed that would do things to drive the car automatically. You can't steer a vehicle over the internet unless the vehicle has hardware installed to turn the wheel. Similarly, you can't use the vehicle's brakes over the internet unless automatic braking is installed.

I'm not downplaying the problem. It IS a problem that all the automakers need to get a heck of a lot more serious about - especially now that they are pushing to get driverless vehicles out on the road.
