I wonder why the Bay City Rollers, bell bottom jeans, and pet rocks were never valued at a billion dollars. How about AOL and Nifty, Spry, AtWeb, Lycos and gosh what was the name of the very early net company that Sears bought and destroyed? Prodigy. LOL.

A billion dollars? Whew, it ain't what it used to be.

Once people move on and the bottom drops out, what will be left but vapor?

Future jobs is in IT software solution formulas and in IT hardware formulas. Twitter value at 1000 million USD,speaks for this.

Sail over troubled rivers via better and better softwares/hardwares.

I am a member of Twitter, but have only ever Twatted once. Could not see the point. No idea how it could ever create the advertising revenue to justify its existence.

Twitter is so useless. I too wonder how in the world there's any money being made from people tweeting about how they just came back from the bathroom or something.

That being said, I also have one. And I use it sometimes. Go figure.

Valued at a billion? Has yet to make a profit! No business plan? This is crazy. Those two fools should have taken the 500 million, given 1 million to each of its 60 employees and go hang out on some beach drinking pina coladas. Twitter is a total waste of time.

Twitter is about connecting your follwers to you and you to whom you are following. Twitter website is very open book website,anyone can easily use it,without much fuss.

Facebook is very much more private in nature, twitter is good for Obama and others. Obama has millions of followers on twitter. This proves his actual leadership quality,which bring in more followers to his twit website and also link others to all Obama news websites/webpages.

The idea in twitter in to get more followers friends via cyberspace. Just like in workplace, you have a group of people you like to mix with. Samething on twitter,is connecting you to people who like your writings or connecting all people together,who are on certain wavelength of tastes ,around the world/USA.

I think Twitter, it will expand more,all future leaders in political parties need to use it ,to expand supporters,in their future elections. Many web newspapers/websites/CNN even JT,used twitter, to update net users.

There you go. We won't need elections anymore. Campaigning can all be done with 100 character long haiku!

Raja, I think that Twitter's major shortcoming is the fact that it is, by design, a medium for people who want to say very little, very often, to very many people. I know that there are niches where that would be good, but I already have a lot of people who often try to contact me to tell me very little, and I hate it. Adding advertisements in any way will double or triple the number of people who want to say very little, very often, to me. Cute.

Somebody thought Twitter would demand parsimony of its users, but it turns out that they just post an eighth as much four times as often. It is perfect for people with ADHD, but once they get medicated, they can get back to using email.
