An even slimmer version? Why try to solve a problem/meet a need that doesn't exist? This is why Sony et al are losing money big time - too much investment into developing unnecessary upgrades and products. I'm sure the product will be 'good', just not required by the consumer. They need to 'slim' down their product range to max their profitability and efficiency in assigning their R&D resources.

PS3 Slimmer? if it has a 1 terabyte hd i will consider it.

It is too combat the wii u release. It is also because the the Xbox 36o is currently selling much better than the ps3 in western countries.

You can get a ps3 for the same price as the wii u. Just as powerful and this "new" console and will several hundred games already available. It won't win everyone over but will steal a few sales away from Nintendo.

I am happy with my current 320GB PS3 and Torne set(added an external 2TB drive). Making it slimmer might cause an overheating problem.

The current PS3 lifespan isn't that much longer though - will they even get to the stage where they start making money on this new model?
