Sony is n ow known nkt for top quality, but inferior dangerous goods. this is another example of their lax quality control.

My advice folks, buy American, we put safety first not profit.

The recall follows circuit breakers tripping at four homes, Sony said.

Find some more good excuse to reduce your profit in China. I am not surprised with this call, it is old habit of Japanese manufactures.

Ouch ! Not a good week for Sony. Their new touch-screen VAIOs crashed live on TV, too ... twice !

Another quality product from Sony. Advise to all, avoid it like plague because Sony products particularly computers and laptops are overpriced, inferior, and yes, very RESTRICTIVE and well...infected with the so called SONY Time

They should not give you complimentary floor mats when you purchase one of their computers. Power surges, gets it cooking and it is going to crash and burn.

hey dick, no one makes laptops in America anymore! Dell has an assembly factory, but it's a losing fight. all the parts and most assembly is made in China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. etc... Only military spec equipment gets "made" in th USA, but thats well beyond our reach.

    "Earth leakage?" What's that??

  • sf2k at 05:18 AM JST - 29th October

Translation fart, clearly they mean "ground", an electricity term referring to the earth at the largest potential energy receiver. Earth should be replaced with ground.

BTW that the units don't ground very well means you are putting your life in your own hands!

  • PepinGalarga at 08:09 AM JST - 29th October

in Japan there's no ground plug, so it's very easy to get zapped by your own goods, even touching parts which would not logically carry any charge.
