Sony to release two models of 4K TV

Sony is releasing two new models (65 inch and 55 inch) of their 4K compliant LCD BRAVIA KD-X9200A series on June 1.

Because of the high color vividness of Sony’s newly developed Triluminous Display technology and use of its Magnetic Fluid Speakers, adopted for use in TVs for the first time, Sony says that its BRAVIA KD-X9200A delivers such a vivid sensory experience that you may forget that you’re really not there. “Am I really in my living room…?”

Its 4K image resolution processor enables images with several different levels of resolution to convert to 4K resolution images.

In terms of connecting to a smart device, there are some interesting functions like “One-touch mirroring function” to mirror the screen of NFC compliant Xperia smartphones or tablets to the TV screen, or “TV SideView” so that you can use your smart device as the TV’s remote control.

KD-65X9200A (65 inch) Estimated Price: 750,000 yen Dimensions (without a stand): 168.2 × 87.5 × 10.0cm Weight: 45kg

KD-55X9200A (55 inch) Estimated Price: 500,000 yen Dimensions (without a stand): 146.3 × 74.9 × 10.0cm Weight: 33.1kg

Neato! But no good for terrestrial TV in Australia - most channels are still only broadcasting in 576i.

Make a nice PC screen tho :p

I don't think there is a vid card capable of 4K imaging yet.

So they're finally coming out with a smart TV, like others have already done since years ago.

Let me know when they come out with a 32 inch version for 30,000 yen.

Just bought a Bravia. Granted, it's a low-end model, but I was disappointed by the picture--the blacks are too bright--and by the fact that the screen does not permit up-down swiveling; only left-right rotation.

NHK will soon start some broadcasting in 4K. They are working o 8K I believe. Too bad the programs are hardly worth watching.

Kabuki in 4 & 8K --- Mattemashita!

Not too expensive but I'll wait for 16K. So I don't need to throw 4K and 8K. I hope SONY will regain it reputation in TV.

Kobuta Chan. It will be pointless to have a tv with 16K. Researchers has said 8K will be the LAST resolution for us human to perceive realistic visual perception.
