    didn't want motion control for the wii. Don`t want it for the playstaion. I am not opposed to change at all. I am tired after I get home from a long full day of work. I go to the gym a few days a week to get exercise. When I get home I don't want to stand up, dance around, swing my arms all night. I want to sit down and relax.

    Sony are so lame. All they can do is copy other companies.

    I like my PS3 as a blu-ray player and I've wanted to get a Wii...this is great news for me.

    Sony hopes to lure gamers who have outgrown Nintendo

    Now it’s time for them to graduate to the PlayStation

    Way to be condescending!

    That controller looks quite ugly.

    ..news for you... they don't just make this product just for you.. plenty of people prefer the wii idea and hence why its so popular and has opened up a new market. So maybe this is going to be popular for others.

    I only wonder why it has taken them nearly 4 years to come up with something to tackle the Wii. Despite being the least powerful games machine, it offers so much more to a player than a standard controller with its 50-odd buttons.

    That thing looks like one of those high-power vibrators they market as massage tools.

    I wonder if thhe similarity of shape is a part of marketing strategy. I wonder if there are any fun movement games being developed along those lines.

    Sony dropped the price of the PS3 by $100 last year and they're now introducing a package to compete with the Wii for $100 this year. So you're STILL spending $400 to compete with a console that has weaker graphics but a far superior controller system.

    Sony = FAIL

    Oh yeah, I forgot to comment on this:

    JT, the headline makes it sound like the controller can be used to slow down a Nintendo game. It would have been better if you had finished the sentence. Something like, "Sony Unveils New Motion Controller in Response to Nintendo Sales"

    The article already pointed out that, "demand for the Wii has slowed in recent months" so anything Sony does isn't going to slow it much more.

    I don't want a wii imitation to replace my wii controller... It looks the same (maybe a little worse), acts the same (should work as good if not better), but what is special about it?

    I think Microsoft has a good idea entering into the motion market with their Project Natal.

    they unveiled this at the 2008 E3 show, and it looked like it had WAY better control than the Wii. Let's hope they have only improved on what they had back then...

    Wii's sensitivity was improved with that add-on module. (I forget the name, but I bought one for my Wii Remote) Now you can actually apply finesse with the controller where before you had to use bigger, broader moves for it to register.
