These are quite pretty, and though not technically blue, still a noticeably novel color for roses. Still, I can't help but feel they should be putting more funding into those glow-in-the-dark kittens I've been hearing about... I mean come on! Glow-in-the-dark kittens!
Why do they keep saying these things are blue? They are lilac. And street signals are green, not blue. Must be something with the rods and cones in peoples eyes here.
They are the first in the world ? My grand-dad always had some of the same shade. My neighbour even got some that were really marine blue.
The only novelty is they produce them industrially, as before they had to graft each rose tree one by one... or is it the 1st time in the world Suntory tries to rip you off thousands of yens for something you can't drink ?
"World first"????? I've bought blue roses in the past and they were really blue, the florist that I bought them from fed white roses with blue food dye which made the leaves go blue over time. And if I remember correctly a dozen of them costed less than £10.
There is absolutely nothing new about that colour of rose. I used to grow some of my own back home...Blue Moon was the name of them. They were actually a bit closer to an actual blue than those. And 2000 yen?? For one flower?? They aren't that novel, really! You can find "blue" roses lots of places!!!

Those are lavender or mauve, not blue. Give me a truly blue one and I might be willing to shell out that much money for one. :P (But probably not)
