Toppan develops ultra heat-resistant IC glass tag

Toppan Printing Co has completed the development of an ultra heat-resistant IC glass tag that can withstand temperatures up to 450 degrees Celsius. The development is based on Toppan technology, which seals an IC chip into a glass as close as possible to vacuum, which in turn improves the heat resistance of the IC tag.

Started in June 2010, the research also involved the collaboration between Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) and Shin Kurushima Dockyard Co, with technical support from the NSG Group. The company aims to launch mass production of the products next year.
