Eight channels at once? A totally gratuitous function. I would settle for one channel with something worth watching.

This article seriously lacks details ! There is a "time-shift" function recording automatically 8 simultaneous channels for up to 26 hours (2 of the 3 TB are reserved for it). So that you can watch a program you missed during the last 26 hours.
