Does anyone else think that robots will never take over doing our jobs for us, like they are portrayed in movies? Japan loves the idea though. Less foreigners, more robots.

whats thepoint ofclearing away dishes if it doesn't wash them? Whats the point of putting shirts in the washer if it cant put in some powder, turn it on, then take it out and dry it after? Its like having a seeing-eye-dog bring in the paper, but you're still blind, and the dog can't read it to you.

One IC chip goes wrong and next thing you know you've got dirty dishes hanging in the wardrobe, dirty underwear spread all over the dining room table, every last rose bush, daisy and blade of grass tidied away out of the garden and into the washing machine....

Roomba does a good job. I don't ask for anything more.

Will it go to work for me and deal with the subway mob and the old folk who insist on getting on before people have begun to exit? My family can do our own house work. I want a proxy to do my job so I can stay at home and read JT all day. Wait, thats what I do at work any way. Oops - here comes the boss gottta log off.

Not really sure if having robots do our chores in the future is really such a good thing... might make us lazier and fatter than we already are.

    Nessie disagrees.

Women do they job perfectly now. Why the need?

  • OgieDoggie at 02:13 AM JST - 28th October

Kind of reminds me of "Rosie" the robot maid from the 1960's Jetson's cartoon.

So what's next "Sex" robots like in the 1973 SciFi "WestWorld"? Women will soon be out of a job.
