Wii Fit selling out pre order on Amazon?? I'm surprised the Wii still continues to show popularity. I hardly play mine's anymore, upgrading to the PS3 with the release of GTA4. In the end I want eye candy games, while Wii can crank out some stunning graphics, it seems like designers are far too lazy and taking the easy way out making games for the Wii. Not good.

I seriously doubt this will create a trend to improve your health through video games. For sure, it'll be a boom for a while, but like all games, people will tire of it and then move on to something else. Anyway, if your serious about improving your health, there are better and even healthier ways of doing it other than through video games.

I agree it's just like being able to own your own fitness equipment. Most people after a short time stop using them. It seems going to the fitness center gives people more of an incentive and desire to work out.

Is it true that Donkey Kong was a typo and it was supposed to be Monkey Kong? anyone? anyone?

The only sweat I worked up was packing mine and shipping it off after selling on auctions. At least the family who bought it is getting good use out of it. The Wii is an interesting concept but a look at the game selection (or lack thereof, really) reminded me I made the right decision.

The typo thing is an urban myth, according to wikipedia.

Yamauchi wanted to primarily target the North American market, so he mandated that the game be given an English title. Miyamoto decided to name the game for the ape, whom he felt to be the strongest character.[1] The story of exactly how Miyamoto came up with the name Donkey Kong varies. A popular urban myth says that the name was originally meant to be Monkey Kong but was misspelled or misinterpreted due to a blurred fax

or bad telephone connection.[17] Another story claims that Miyamoto looked in a Japanese-English dictionary for something that would mean stubborn gorilla[18] or that Donkey was meant to convey silly and that Kong was common Japanese slang for gorilla.[5] A rival claim is that he worked with Nintendo's export manager to come up with the title, and that Donkey was meant to represent stupid and goofy.[19] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DonkeyKong(video_game)

And getting back to the wii fit topic, I can see it at least being popular with kids - hopefully those with expanding waistlines!

I think it is a very innovative way to expand the market. Some of the posters have already added that they are fed up of the Wii and want something a little more satisfying. This will the same with a lot of those first time gamer virgins. Eventually some of them who would never of picked up a game before will want to move to the next step.(PS2/PS3/Xbox)So even though Nintendo are top at the moment. In the long run this will benefit the other consoles. That is of course if they can step up to the plate. On a lighter note I reckon the idea of doing snowboarding etc on it would be much better than using conventional controls.

Wii Karate: A video game that teaches you Karate. Become a martial arts expert by playing.

There is so much they can do with the Wii and I bet Sony and Microsoft will follow suit.
