Exciting one hand but quite scary on the other.A girl in India already commited suicide because of this ,but you can not stop progress. What if this creates microscopic blackholes which will "eat" everything around them day after day slowly, slowly and grow like cancer?

  • romulus3 at 07:50 PM JST - 11th September

The thing is they will not know if they created a mini blackhole that did not dissipate because there is no Hawkins radiation until about 15 seconds from when it eats us in around 5 or 50 million years later. So many questions about this. This may be the greatest disaster we have ever known or it may open new doors of understanding for us. Personally I think its to risky just to gratify the minds of a few elit, genius humans but that is only because I am not one of them. To be that you are verging on the edge of insanity. here are to different perspectives. 1. against http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_u87dRmkZE&feature=related 2. for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rk8Vr00EBHA

"Black hole" is now an officially racist term. These Europeans need to be careful.

"It's the end of the world as we know it...la la" Whatever...I think it is great I can't wait for the results. It sounds cool!

If you guys never hear from me again, I've probably been claimed as the first person on Earth to fall victim to a man-made black hole.

I probably won't be able to sleep now, I've scared myself making that prophetic statement.

    akaguma,

who said God did not order the big bang to get the ball rolling? I mean only a mind beyond all comprehension could order such a thing. This could give Christians even more reason to be in awe of their God.

Personally, I have no idea how it all started, am open minded to different theories, am interested in the different realms of possibility this opens up but I still think its foolish to play God. This thing could open up a can of killer worms or advance us a few generations.

These guys are trying to re-create the moment when the universe exploded. What could go wrong there, huh?

    har!

  • cwhite at 04:52 AM JST - 15th September

inevitably humans are going to do something pretty stupid and this rates a 5.5 for me. Given time we will create something that we can neither control or comprehend and it will be too late.
