After being turned down by Softbank for the the iPhone yesterday - simply because I'm a gaijin - there words, not mine, I want nothing to do with Softbank.
In fact, I'm considering a lawsuit against them after I read comments on this site http://www.iphoneinjapan.com from other foreign residents in Japan, who have also been turned down for the iPhone.
Amazingly, one poster even said he was bemused by the fact that if we pay $800 up front, then the 'problem' with processing an order 'goes away'.
Softbank may think it's looking out for it's own interests in Japan, but is blatantly being xenophobic in doing so.
If Yahoo ties up with them, I will no longer use anything related to Yahoo either.
