Foreign couples invited to wed at Kishiwada Castle
The Hotel Sunroute Kanku is accepting applications from foreigners to wed at Kishiwada Castle. One couple will be slected to wed as a part of The Kishiwada Castle Wedding Plan, which is sponsored by the Kishiwada City Tourist association.
The selected couple will be provided with an interpreter and will receive a signed wedding pledge from Kiyoshi Niguchi, the mayor of Kishiwada City. Interested couples can apply for a Kishiwada wedding through Aug 31 for a wedding in October or November. The price for this wedding is 193,000 yen, which includes ceremonial fees, dressing room and beauty shop fees, costumes, kimono fitting and wedding album.

I think it's a wonderful idea and promotion. I'm sure many couples will find this to be a unique and great way to get married. At $1800, it sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Don't forget that the price doesn't include the cost of a reception. It's a good deal if you're only looking for the ceremony, though. But there's only one couple who would get this deal - everyone else would have to pay the full whack (which is twice this special price).

I got married overseas for less than this price and it wasn't a special "watch the round eyes get married" exhibit at the zoo

Of course, you have get through all the police anti-terror checkpoints which racially profile non-Asians first, but, yeah, after you show your passport 7 or 8 times, sure, you're welcome to come to Kishiwada Castle!
