Save the forests: put it online.

Glad to see my tax money well spent. Might do better getting people to visit these places if there was ever any English information once you get there. You can only sit in hot water for so long, if you haven't been indoctrinated into believing it's something spiritual to sit in the nude, scalding your plums off with a bunch of naked, sweating old blokes.

"enjoy these slimy tasty beans"
Those beans are not tasty!
That guidebook had better have warnings about natto, fugu and mayonnaise on delivery pizza.

All I want is all of the okkomiyake recipies.
JohnBecker at 01:13 AM JST - 11th June
Okonomiyake... food of the gods, I tells ya.... Love that stuff!
toguro at 01:19 AM JST - 11th June
Natto is actually pretty good, once you'v aquired the taste for it. But it is that, an aquired taste.
Fadamor at 04:59 AM JST - 11th June
They've got robots making the okonomiyake... how good can it be? http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nb20090610a1.html

"Natto is... an acquired taste"
I ain't gonna ever acquire that taste.
amerijap at 09:40 AM JST - 11th June
You can't taste it in raw. It's super yucky without a soy sauce.

Mmmmmmmmm... Wanko Soba: Japan's tasty secret.
Something tells me the Brit tourists will find that amusing.
nikoniko at 06:55 PM JST - 13th June
yes but ppl have to try nattou!!
"wanko" soba ... o yah, the name alone will get ppl to eat it >.> hah
fadamor-yup .. the robots that are being created to (quoting news) "take on the jobs replacing humans" ... o yes, that helps the economy SO much! (gao)

I like Nattou and blue cheese or hung pheasant. I doubt the Japanese would appreciate a translation of the latter two either. Nearly wrote well hung pheasant! LOL.

Natto for the appetiser and Kusaiya for the main - wonderful!
yabits at 11:32 PM JST - 15th June
We are living in the age of the Internet. Why not an electronic copy that can be downloaded from a website?

I ate some wanko soba once, and after that I took out some Life Insurance with the Kinki Insurance company!! Japan`s tasty secrets? What exactly is "secret" about them? Some of the "secrets" might be better remaining just that. Especially that vile natto stuff, and the equally nauseating chawan mushi - yuk.
