JAL expands codeshare services with BA
TOKYO —
Japan Airlines will offer customers codeshare flights operated by British Airways (BA) from London (Heathrow) to Lisbon, as well as to four destinations in the United Kingdom; Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. The codesharing flights are scheduled to start from Jan 14.
With these new codeshare flights, JAL connects Japan to a total of 31 cities in Europe on 43 routes. Cities already served are as follows: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Helsinki, London, Lyons, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Nice, Oslo, Rome, Paris, Prague, Rome, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Warsaw and Zurich.
Japan Airlines and British Airways - both members of the oneworld alliance - first started codesharing in February, 2004. This latest codeshare agreement further expands JAL’s Japan- Europe network by providing smooth connections with minimal transit time from Lisbon and the UK cities onto daily services operated by the airline between London
(Heathrow) and Japan.

Isn´t "smooth connections" in Heathrow a contradiction in terms?

I've never had a problem at Heathrow. Shame JAL and BA aren't codesharing any Kansai international to Heathrow flights.

They should declare codeshares when you buy. I thought I was flying Air France NGO-CDG and it turned out to be JAL full of Obatarians!

They do declare it, on your e-ticket and on the website when you book.

If you are lucky, some of the service guys at Heathrow may even be able to speak in English.
