Jetstar marks 2 yrs of Japan operations with Y7,000 return fare to Australia
TOKYO —
To mark two successful years of service and ongoing growth in Japan, Qantas Group airline Jetstar is providing a special limited time offer for travel from Japan to Australia, allowing travelers to purchase Jetstar return fares at an unprecedented low sale fare: Narita-Gold Coast for 7,000 yen, Narita-Cairns for 7,000 yen and Osaka-Gold Coast for 7,000 yen.
Bookings for this sale can be made through Wednesday, and the special offer is for travel
during the period from April 14 to July 14. Terms & conditions apply. The fares are available on selected days and flights only, and are subject to availability. These fares do not include meals, refreshments and entertainment, which can be purchased separately.
The fares are exclusive of fuel surcharge (Return 24,000 yen), insurance, taxes and airport facility charge, which will be charged separately.
Reservations can be made online at Jetstar.com, or by calling Jetstar Holidays Telephone Reservations (24-hour toll free service in Japanese language) on 0120 934 787, and through selected travel agencies. These fares are available until midnight (Japan time) on Wednesday, unless seats sell out prior.

What a load of crap, limited seats, limited time, limited bookings, only explaining the fuel charges 1 way, actually the fuel charge will be around 60,000yen after all taxes.

I'd also like to know the regular air fare without all these surcharges. Only then can I tell whether this is a good deal or not.

resot345 - it's a good deal less than a quarter of the regular fare before fuel charges

Wow - it is 7,000 yen for a round trip. Normal cheapest prices are 28,000 each way before fuel surcharges.
We just booked for the easter holidays - family of 3 110,000 yen inc taxes and other charges

Yeah absolute bollocks, I guess they are relying on people to say 'well you know 38,000 yen isn't so bad lets book it anyway', and that is only on selected flights as well, and don't think for a minute about getting a deal during Golden Week 136,000 is the cheapest you would get. Again not too bad for Golden Week, and I quite like Jetstar but please stop blatantly lying to people with false claims of 7,000 yen return flights. It is the most annoying practice airlines do and get away with. (I guess you would have to an idiot to think you would get anywhere for 7,000 yen, but there is always that 'hmmm maybe it is true' thought, going through your mind) and lets be honest I probably spent that on the bastard phone to them this morning checking it out !! ; )

Why not just list the price that people have to pay, and stop all the deception?

Well, being deceptive to Japanese is easy. And they don't complain either. It is only the foreigners who whinge but Jetstar is not after gaijin. They want Japanese customers.Who will spend money.

they for got a comma somewhere. 2 years of operations at 7000 yen is just not feasible.

Hey nitwits, the surcharges and additional costs are applicable to any ticket - not just the 7,000 yen tickets. Hard to see this as anything other than a great deal.

Australia to Japan is pretty cheap and there doesn't seem to be a fuel surcharge if you book on the Australian web site.

it is significantly cheaper but I have to agree I wish they would display the final price in ads. In the EU you have to now.
