Thai Airways to resume direct flights between Tokyo and Phuket

Thai Airways International is to resume operating direct flights from Tokyo to Phuket from July 17. TG 671 which will operate directly between Tokyo-Phuket-Bangkok was suspended in February 2005 following reduced passenger numbers after the Tsunami.

Thai will operate two flights per week, on Thursday and Saturday, with departure from Tokyo at 10 a.m. and arrival in Phuket at 15.25. The return flight will depart from Phuket at 16.30 and arrive in Bangkok at 17.55. The aircraft employed will be Boeing 777-200, with 30 seats in Royal Executive class and 279 in economy class.

I wish the route was operated by Singapore airlines or something. Thai Airways have a habit of giving bad service and also being delayed. Either that or replace all their air hostesses with Japanese, Singaporean or Malaysian ones. I flew them 4 international flights in a row within a space of 1 week:

Delayed over 30min: 3 out of 4 flights Delayed over 1hr: 2 out of 4 flights Delay because passengers had to WAIT FOR THE AIRCREW!: 1 out of 4 flights Rudeness: All flights Air hostess with Attitudes: All flights Run out of meals: 2 out of 4 flights

And they charge as high as JAL and ANA or more.

All this from a person who loves Thailand and only wishes their airline could better represent the country!

    Cool.

I go there once a year to meet my folks who spend 2 months there every winter. Hate having to transfer in bangkok.

IMO, their service can't be worse than UA, etc.

never got a problem with their service. if some think malaysia air or JAL can do a better job, why not fly with them? TG ticket usually higher than the 2!
