"those in their early 20s declined from 19.8% to 17.1% and those in their late 20s dropped from 25.7% to 21.1%. Why aren’t young people traveling to foreign countries?"

Can you say "working poor" ???

Exchange rates make it very expesive to travel to Europe at the moment - and vice versa. Could that be the reason?

"strongly surprised and stimulated" - could be the same author who penned the phrase "visit world campaign"

The Japanese government should review its policy of fingerprinting all foreigners who come to Japan. Its seems rather arrogant to promote Yokoso Japan then ask everyone from everywhere to be treated like a criminal.

look at the ticket price during holiday season and tell me if you want to go aboard?

Stimulation might be tickled if travel agents and ads we see in newspapers include the 'fuel' surcharge or any other surcharges in the price they quote. Just wish that would be the common rule when trying to find any flight at any time of the year.

Especially when you look at how many terrorist attacks have occured in Japan brought on by foreigners. (Hint=0)

Maybe people don't want to travel anymore because flying sucks as bad as taking the stupid train to work every morning.
