Well, as fuel costs just half what it did three months ago they could try massively slashing fares eh?

oil is priced in us dollars..the dollar has been strengthening against most currencies..so the cost reductions that the fall in the oil price has caused is offset, somewhat, by the rise in the value of the dollar, fuel is more like 2/3rds of the price it was. Also the chances are the airlines have managed to "hedge" their supply price at a higher level than the price is now..thinking themselves smart for hedging as the price increased they will now be feeling a slightly different emotion as the price has retreated, financial whizz kids..who needs them.
