American Airlines to suspend Haneda-JFK service from Sept until summer 2012
TOKYO —
The U.S. Department of Transportation approved an application last week granting American Airlines flexibility to adjust services between Haneda and New York’s JFK until summer 2012. The application and approval reflects ongoing challenges with U.S.–Japan travel demand following the earthquake/tsunami in Japan on March 11.
As a result, American will temporarily suspend its services between Haneda and New York due to low customer demand effective Septr 6, 2011 until summer 2012. American said it will re-accommodate all customers affected by this schedule change to other flights. The airline said it will continue to operate non-stop service between Narita and JFK in addition to daily non-stop services to Chicago, Dallas-Ft Worth and Los Angeles. Narita-JFK will resume daily from Sept 6.

Still would rather fly NH or JL out of NRT as opposed to AA from HND.
