ANA announces photo contest celebrating the launch of new Facebook page

TOKYO —

ANA is staging a worldwide photo contest to mark the launch of its Japanese Facebook page. The winner of the “Fly Me Here: Dream Photo Contest” will receive two round-trip tickets to Japan from any ANA gateway city overseas.

Previously set up in January 2009 as the ANA North America Facebook page, the site has been relaunched as ANA’s global Facebook page (www.facebook.com/flyworld.ana), connecting ANA’s passengers all around the world. The interactive site will feature several enhancements
including a variety of videos, more photos of ANA aircraft, and fun campaigns that include the newly launched photo contest.

Anyone with a Facebook account who is at least 18 years old can take part in the competition by following these three easy steps: First, take a photo that captures what they envisage to be their dream Japanese vacation. Second, “Like” the ANA page. Finally, enter their photo and tell friends and family to “Like” their entered photo. The entry with the most “Likes” at the end of the contest will be announced on Facebook and awarded a pair of coach-class round-trip tickets to Japan in order to turn a dream vacation into reality.

The deadline for entries and voting is Feb 28, and the winner will be announced on March 1.

The introduction of the official Japanese site will also enhance the English site with additional content generated in Japan, such as travel tips by globetrotting ANA cabin attendants and photo greetings from the global ANA employees. A smartphone application is also being developed to become available for the Japanese page.

You cannot see a face book page unless you have one yourself. Isn't that kind of selfish?

Agree with goddog, it is starting to get on my nerves too that you need to have a facebook account for everything lately.
