We went on a submarine excursion in Kona, Hawaii, in 2008. It dived to over 100 feet, and moved around the bottom on its own power. Pretty cool. I have heard that they have had similar excursions in the Caribbean for awhile now. A forty five minute ride was a fraction of $599.
