Hato Bus announces summer package tours to Hakkeijima Resort Island and Tambara Lavender Park

Hato Bus Co Ltd has announced summer package bus tour plans through October 2016 accompanied by attendants speaking English and Chinese. The package tours, numbering 32 in all, include a tour to the Yokohama Hakkeijima resort island beginning this summer and a summer-only tour to Tambara Lavender Park as well as overnight tours with English-speaking guides.

(1) First Yokohama Hakkeijima tour for foreign visitors

According to the Japan Tourism Agency, 33.2% of foreign travelers to Japan were accompanied by family members or relatives. Meanwhile, Hato Bus staff members assigned to inbound tours, who were in China to visit a recent travel fair, were told by local travel agents that there was a strong need for bus tours for families. In view of such a need and the fact that it is time for summer vacations for children, the company decided to add a new course to visit Hakkeijima, just an hour's ride from Tokyo. Yokohama has a number of sightseeing spots for foreigners interested in Japanese culture and history, including the Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise and the Nissin Cup Noodles Museum.

(2) Tambara Lavender Park tour to enjoy flowers of summer

In spring, the company's first tour to Ashikaga Flower Park, known for its big wisteria trees, created a sensation among foreign tourists, many of them seen eagerly taking pictures of the trees. In summer, Hato organized a tour including a stop at Tambara Lavender Park in Gunma Prefecture to enjoy lavender, the beautiful flower of summer blooming across the hillside.

Yeah right! Stuck in traffic jams for 8 hours and one hour at the resort, I shudder to think of worse misery.

If you want to go to Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, just take the Seaside line from Shin-Suguita, it'll drop you right at the entrance.
