JAL introduces improved first class and business class seating
JAL will introduce the JAL Suite in first class and the JAL Shell Flat Neo Seat when it launches its 777-300ER planes on August 1. These new additions to the JAL fleet will be flying to the U.S. The first flights taken on the 777-300ER planes will be every other day to New York.
Eventually, flights to San Francisco in September 2008, and flights to Chicago and Los Angeles will begin April 1, 2009. Improved economy seats will also be introduced on these aircraft.

Which means, of course, that we won't see them on the NRT-HNL route anytime soon... :-/
Just as well, it would remind me too much of flying off in the cubicle I use at work.

Isn't this the airline that flies planes immediately following an accident?

You'll never find me on a flight to JFK. Even if it was free.

"Improved economy seats"
Question: I won't have to jostle with the passenger next to me for the elbow rest? Also, the back of the seat in front of me won't crush my knees when it's reclined?

Anyone here know what a 1st class ticket to NY costs on JAL? You could buy a car with that kind of money.

Which will certainly be helpful in getting to New York from Japan.
