Japan News and Discussion
OSAKA —
Qantas Group airline Jetstar on Wednesday launched its first long haul international services direct to the Gold Coast from Japan, with the commencement of its daily A330 Osaka-Gold Coast-(Sydney) service.
The service replaces Jetstar’s Sydney-Osaka-Brisbane daily service, and is in response to
passenger trends which showed many Japanese travelers who previously disembarked in
Brisbane were seeking to holiday on the Gold Coast.
The value based carrier’s new Osaka-Gold Coast service will operate daily, with a tag service to Sydney five times a week. The flight from Kansai International Airport to Gold Coast departs at 8 p.m.
From Dec 18, Jetstar will further expand Gold Coast’s international connections to Japan,
with the commencement of direct two-class flights Narita five times a week. Before the year end, Jetstar will become the largest Qantas Group operator on the Australia–Japan route, offering 19 weekly services.
Jetstar is now offering special JetSaver return sale fares for Osaka–Gold Coast from
30,000 yen (excluding fuel surcharge, taxes and airport facility charge), and
Osaka–Gold Coast-Sydney from 40,000 yen.
